The CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) asked the Supreme Court to cancel the bail of former Bihar CM (Chief Minister) Lalu Prasad. They said that Lalu Prasad was playing badminton after being released on bail due to health reasons in a case related to a scam involving feed for animals.
Lalu Prasad is playing a game called badminton. He has been allowed to go free after being found guilty in the case. The court gave him bail because they wrongly thought he had already been in prison for more than three years, but they didn’t realize that his sentences were served at the same time, not one after the other.
Raju said that he will show that the High Court order from Jharkhand is completely bad. Kapil Sibal, who is a senior lawyer representing the RJD leader, defended the decision to grant bail. Sibal mentioned that the RJD leader is 78 years old, has recently had a kidney transplant, and has already spent 42 months in jail.
The Bench decided to postpone the hearing until October 17. Prasad has been found guilty in five cases connected to the alleged illegal withdrawal of money from treasuries in Dumka, Deoghar, Chaibasa, and Doranda in Bihar. He is temporarily released from prison for health reasons in three cases.
