The BJP questioned the Congress in Karnataka for giving in to pressure and releasing Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.
“The Congress in Karnataka gave 10 TMC (Thousand Million Cubic feet) of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu because they were forced to by their alliance with Ghamandia,” stated Rajeev Chandrashekhar, a senior BJP leader and Union Minister, today.
He used information from the state to say that 50 farmers had killed themselves since the Congress took control in Karnataka, and 16 districts and 85 smaller areas called talukas were suffering from drought.
“In the midst of severe struggles faced by farmers, leading to suicides, the Congress party yielded to the pressure of forming alliances for political reasons. ” It provided Cauvery waters to Tamil Nadu without talking about it in a meeting attended by all political parties. In the state, it has been usual to talk about the problem with everyone before making a decision. But this time, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar made the decision alone to make the ruling DMK party in Tamil Nadu, who is an ally of Congress, happy.
He said that the Congress party was running a government in the state that was full of misgovernance, no development, and corruption.
Chandrashekhar said that Karnataka decided to get rid of the National Education Policy which focuses on developing skills. He also mentioned that contractors accused the state government of being involved in corrupt activities. Additionally, Shivakumar recently stated that the state government will not be able to achieve progress for a year. Chandrashekhar used all these examples to highlight the mismanagement and corruption in Karnataka.
