New Delhi, on July 24th.
Subhashini Ali, a member of CPI(M) and former Kanpur MP, has said sorry for her tweet accusing the RSS of being involved in the sexual assault of two Kuki women in Manipur.
I’m really sorry for retweeting a fake tweet about two people who were falsely accused in a terrible case of sexual violence against women in Manipur. Ali said in a tweet today that he is sorry for any embarrassment he caused, even though he did not mean to do it.
Ali posted a picture on Sunday of two men wearing RSS clothes. He also shared a screenshot from a popular video of the Manipur incident. Ali claimed that these men were the people responsible for the incident where a group of people forced two women to walk without clothes.
Ali wrote, “Those people are the ones accused in Manipur. ” Identify them based on what they are wearing.
Ali still hasn’t taken down the tweet. This picture of two men has been shared many times with the words “false” or “incorrect” written at the top.
The Manipur police filed a report against unknown individuals for sharing a photo of an RSS member and his son, falsely claiming that they were involved in publicly exposing two women on May 4th.
The police in Manipur received a report from a person in a political party. They said that a picture of him and his son, along with a screenshot from a viral video of two women, was posted on different social media sites. The post also said that they were involved in the crime.
“A case has been filed at CCPS against someone who spread false news with the intention of causing harm, damaging their reputation, and creating a serious violation of law and order,” stated the statement.
The police are trying to find the people who did something wrong and take them into custody.
