The Delhi High Court has asked the news portal ‘NewsClick’ and its editor-in-chief to explain their position on the ED’s request to remove the order protecting them from coercive action in a money laundering case. The court found that there may be valid reasons to remove this protection and has sent notices to ‘NewsClick’ and its editor-in-chief. At the same time, over 250 well-known people such as former judges and diplomats wrote a letter to the President and the Chief Justice of India asking for consequences to be taken against the news website.
