The G20 trade and investment ministers had a meeting in Jaipur and agreed on important guidelines for using digital technology in trade. They outlined 10 main principles that will help move towards using digital documents instead of paper in trade.
These principles will help countries as they put in place rules for sharing electronic trade data and documents across borders. Furthermore, the principle of inclusivity is being emphasized, making sure that this transition caters to businesses of all sizes. This information comes from an official news release.
The G20 meeting, led by Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, also made a Jaipur Call for Action to improve access to information for small businesses. They asked the International Trade Centre in Geneva to create a plan for upgrading its Global Trade Helpdesk to help small businesses with their informational needs.
