The Union health ministry said on Friday that 17 states and Union Territories (UTs) in India have detailed instances of the Omicron variation of the Covid, which was first identified in South Africa in November.
Tending to a press preparation on the Covid-19 circumstance, Union wellbeing secretary Rajesh Bhushan said, “There are 358 instances of Omicron altogether and out of these, 114 have recuperated.”
Bhushan said an examination of 183 Omicron cases was done which showed that 121 such cases had an unfamiliar travel history.
“44 cases out of the 183 Omicron cases investigated had no unfamiliar travel history, yet most of them were contacts of unfamiliar explorers. The movement history of the leftover 18 cases isn’t known,” Bhushan said.
He added that 61% of the Omicron cases broke down were male and 39% were females.
“Concerning the immunization status, 87 patients were completely immunized and out of these, three were likewise vaccinated with the sponsor portion. Seven patients were unvaccinated and two were to some extent immunized and 16 were ineligible to take the hit. The inoculation status of 73 patients is obscure,” the Union wellbeing secretary added during Friday’s informing.

The wellbeing service has been having normal conversations with states and UTs to screen the arising worries of Omicron, Rajesh Bhushan likewise said.
