Chandigarh, on August 28th.
The Minister of State for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, provided new information about ISRO’s Gaganyaan mission.
The minister said that the tests for ISRO’s mission will start in early October.
He mentioned that in the next stage of the Gaganyaan mission, they will send ‘Vyommitra’ into outer space.
After these two steps, the Gaganyaan project will send one to three astronauts as part of their manned mission. Singh thinks that this may begin in 2024.
Vyommitra is a robot that looks like a female and is being made by ISRO. The name comes from two Sanskrit words. One word means space and the other word means friend. The humanoid was shown for the first time on January 22, 2020 at a conference about space travel and exploration in Bengaluru.
The Gaganyaan mission is a project to send three astronauts into space for three days, orbiting around the earth at a distance of 400 kilometers. After that, they will safely come back to earth.
