Chandigarh on August 28.
Minister Jitendra Singh spoke about the Gaganyaan mission of ISRO, the Indian Space Research Organisation.
The minister said that the testing for ISRO’s mission will start in either the first or second week of October.
He said that in the next part of the Gaganyaan mission, they will send ‘Vyommitra’ into space.
After completing two stages, the Gaganyaan project will send one to three astronauts on a manned mission. “I believe this might begin in 2024,” Singh stated.
‘Vyommitra’ is a robot that looks like a female and is being created by ISRO. The name comes from two Sanskrit words – “vyoma” means space and “mitra” means friend. The human-like robot was shown to the public for the first time on January 22, 2020 at a conference about space exploration in Bengaluru.
The Gaganyaan mission is a plan to send three astronauts into space and have them orbit the earth at a distance of 400 kilometers for three days. After that, they will come back to earth safely.
