Chandigarh, on August 28.
The Science and Technology Minister, Jitendra Singh, provided information about the Gaganyaan mission of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Saturday.
The minister said that the tests for ISRO’s mission will start in either the first or second week of October.
He stated that the next part of the Gaganyaan mission will include sending ‘Vyommitra’ to space.
After these two steps, between one and three astronauts will be sent for the manned mission of the Gaganyaan project. “I reckon this might begin in 2024,” Singh stated.
‘Vyommitra’ is a robot that looks like a female and is being created by ISRO. The name comes from two Sanskrit words, ‘vyoma’ (which means space) and ‘mitra’ (which means friend). The first time people saw the humanoid was on January 22, 2020 at a conference in Bengaluru about space exploration and travel.
The Gaganyaan mission is a project where three astronauts will be sent to space in a 400-kilometer orbit for three days and then brought back safely to earth.
