The Minister of State for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, shared information about ISRO’s Gaganyaan mission on Saturday.
The minister said that the experiments for ISRO’s mission will start either in the first or second week of October.
He said that the next part of the Gaganyaan mission will be to send ‘Vyommitra’ into space.
After completing two stages, astronauts ranging from one to three will be sent on the Gaganyaan project’s manned mission. I believe it could begin in 2024,” Singh stated.
‘Vyommitra’ is a robot that looks like a female and is being created by ISRO. The name comes from two Sanskrit words, ‘vyoma’ (which means space) and ‘mitra’ (which means friend). The robot was shown to the public for the first time on January 22, 2020 at a conference in Bengaluru about human spaceflight and exploration.
The Gaganyaan mission is a project that aims to send three astronauts into space for three days. They will orbit around 400 kilometers above the Earth and then come back safely.
