Reliance Jio is launching 5G services faster than any other company in the world. They plan to cover the entire country with this high-speed network by December, according to Chairman Mukesh Ambani.
JioAirFiber will start on Ganesh Chaturthi, September 19th, according to Ambani at the 46th AGM of Reliance Industries.
The number of Jio customers has reached 450 million. Their 5G network currently reaches 96% of towns and they are planning to cover the whole country by December.
“Jio now has over 450 million customers, and their revenue has grown by over 20% compared to last year,” he said.
Overall, Jio’s network is seeing an increase in the amount of data that each user is using. On average, users are now using more than 25 GB of data each month.
Ambani said that Jio started seven years ago with a goal to make India a leading digital society. He mentioned that they have worked very hard to create a digital public infrastructure that is now getting recognition worldwide.
Jio has played a big role in India’s impressive digital transformation, he said.
