The Supreme Court on Wednesday extended until July 19 the interim protection from arrest given to activist Teesta Setalvad in relation to a case related to the 2002 post-Godhra riots. A three-judge panel headed by Justice BR Gavai also sent a notification to the Gujarat Government in response to Setalvad’s request against the Gujarat High Court’s order. The Additional Solicitor General SV Raju requested for more time, as he needed to have documents translated. The panel accepted his plea and scheduled the hearing for July 19.
